Permanently there was a troop of 20 men stationed at the Kalvskinnet. These troops alternated with two separate troops and the soldiers slept and lived here every 3rd week.
Colonnel Graf von Burski had his head-quarter in Liland. Documents show that he did not live in Liland himself, but in a cottage some distance away. Such a log cabin was placed in Grovfjord.
